TrueEV, the exclusive importer, distributor, and retailer of XPENG in Australia, hosted a spectacular event to celebrate the official launch of XPENG Australia and the opening of its highly anticipated Sydney Flagship Experience Centre. Located at then gateway to Sydney’s Domestic Airport precinct, this state-of-the-art showroom marks a significant milestone in the brand’s expansion into the Australian market.
The event which was officiated by motoring journalist media presenter, Elise Elliott, commenced with a ribbon cutting and plaque ceremony, led by TrueEV CEO Jason Clarke and international XPENG officials James Wu, Vice President, and Alex Tang, Head of International Business.
Mr Clarke shared an update on XPENG’s brand expansion plans in Australia, including news that XPENG has just confirmed dealer partnerships with Autopact, Australia’s second largest dealer group headquartered in Queensland, and Jackson Motor Group, located in Tasmania, which will further increase XPENG’s reach in Australia.
As part of its strategic growth in Australia, XPENG is set to open three additional Experience Centres by the end of 2024, including locations in Wollongong (New South Wales), Port Melbourne (Victoria), and North Coburg (Victoria). These showrooms are part of a broader plan by TrueEV to expand the brand’s footprint across Australia, with 20 locations slated to open by the end of 2025.
Jason Clarke, CEO of TrueEV, said, “We are incredibly excited about what the future holds for XPENG in Australia.
“As we officially open our Sydney flagship experience centre we are delighted to announce new dealer partnerships across Australia including Autopact, which is Australia’s second largest dealer group headquartered in Queensland, and Jackson Motor Group, located in Tasmania.
“These partnerships, alongside our own XPENG experience centres, continue to bolster our presence and commitment to the Australian market in breaking down the barriers of EV ownership and accelerating the transition to clean and eco-friendly transportation.
“Together, we are not just selling cars; we are creating a future where sustainability and cutting-edge technology go hand in hand, empowering more Australians to
make the switch to cleaner, greener driving.”
The launch event also featured an exclusive reveal of the XPENG G6, which has recently been awarded top marks from ANCAP and a five-star safety rating. The G6 can now be seen on Australian roads, with the first Australian customers taking delivery of their highly awaited G6 vehicles in recent weeks. Guests at the event were treated to an evening of indulgence, with caviar blinis and champagne served as the cellist’s melodies set the tone for an unforgettable experience. Influencers, media, and international XPENG officials gathered to witness the unveiling of a new era of electric mobility in Australia.
The 3,000sqm XPENG Sydney Flagship Experience Centre will open officially to the public from 9am AEDT Wednesday 18 December 2024 and is located in a prime position at the entrance to Sydney Airport’s domestic precinct, providing customers with an immersive, hands-on experience of the brand’s advanced electric vehicles.
